PROJECT MOLKA: TASK 4

PROJECT LAILI: TASK 1

DAY 7 OF 10

CHAPTER 27

A more beautiful day for a beautiful bridal shower brunch could not have been scheduled by the Saint Thomas Council’s Committee on Tourism had they so desired.

The beautiful Outcast’s sundeck, upper deck, and main deck were filled with beautiful guests enjoying a beautiful catered brunch. And a beautiful local singer sang beautiful songs with beautiful verve.

And the most beautiful sight of all—in a beautiful haute couture pink-coral dress—was the beautiful bride to be, the beautiful Caryn Thorsen.

Only a small black boat speeding into the marina toward Outcast threatened to interrupt all the beautiful perfection. The boat featured a tinted window cabin, which concealed the pilot.

Donar Thorsen spotted the imminent catastrophe first and his worry lines depended a little more. “What the hell?”

He climbed to the yacht’s second level, entered the bridge, and activated its PA system. “Attention, black boat: This is a private marina and a no wake zone. Please reduce speed and leave this marina.”

The black boat kept coming.

“Black boat, this is a private marina and a no wake zone. Reduce speed and leave this marina.”

The black boat kept coming.

Donar blasted the yacht’s warning air horns.

The black boat kept coming.

Donar warned all on board. “Everyone, brace for a collision!”

Confused questions and a few gasps rippled through the assembly. But at the last possible moment, the black boat slowed and eased alongside Outcast.

Before anyone could look down upon the boat, a tactical ladder was raised from it and hooked on the Outcast’s stern railing, followed by a small, black object tossed onto Outcast’s deck.

Bright FLASH.

Loud BANG!

The flashbang grenade’s detonation caused no injuries but scattered the guests into a screaming panic.

Up the ladder, over the rail, and onto the deck came Laili. She wore her all-black outfit from the previous night with a black bandana addition.

Two of Captain Savanna’s crewmen, dressed for pirating, followed her aboard. Each had a pistol tucked in their belts.

Laili stood with boots spread shoulder width apart, hands on hips, and face ablaze. “Nobody move, and shut your mouths, or they’ll draw those weapons and commence firing!”

The beautiful guests fell into stupefied silence.

One of her crewmen took out a phone and began to video the scene.

Laili addressed the assembled. “I’m Captain Giselle, proud adopted descendant of the French pirate Olivier Levasseur, known as La Buse, and you are all my prisoners! You can beg for your pathetic lives but expect no mercy unless you heed what I’ve come to say.”

The guests laughed and clapped in relief. Some offered Caryn praise for her choice of entertainment.

Laili continued. “Everyone shut up! I have a proclamation to make!”

The guests went quiet, happy to play along.

“The proclamation is this: Pick up all your shit and get the fuck off this boat! The wedding is cancelled!”

The guests laughed and clapped again.

Caryn descended rapidly from the sundeck, mortified. “This is not a show! She’s Paz’s crazy of stalker!”

Laili pointed at Caryn. “Hold your tongue, wench, or I’ll cut it out!”

The guests laughed and clapped again.
